Back in February of last year, I checked my e-mail and scoffed at a message I thought was surely junk mail titled “COSMOPOLITAN AUSTIN STREET STYLE.” I reluctantly opened it, wondering how my spam filters let this one slip by. To my chagrin, it was in fact an e-mail from Cosmopolitan Magazine's Senior Photo Editor, asking if I would be interested in shooting street style for an Austin edition of their monthly features “What's on Your Mind?” and “Keeping it Real Beauty.” With shakey fingers, I quickly responded with my phone number and was on the phone with Cosmo editors minutes later. Over the course of two days in February, I shot some of Austin's most stylish ladies on South Congress, East Sixth Street, and Manor Road, while two Cosmo writers interviewed the girls on their daily beauty regimens and what was currently occupying their thoughts.
I had a fantastic time shooting all of these wonderful women, and though my photos were only expected to be in one issue, they ended up using my photos in three more issues after that, as well as some international versions of Cosmo! You can check out a few of the issues my photos were featured in here. I was floored by how well-received my pictures were and I am so grateful the Cosmo staff gave me this amazing opportunity!

This year, I was granted the amazing opportunity to take style photos for one of my favorite fashion websites, Refinery29, at Fun Fun Fun Fest. I hadn’t been to FFF Fest since way back when it was still in Waterloo Park, so I was surprised by how much the festival has grown in the past few years, attracting festival goers from all over the world. FFF Fest is easily one of the most stylish festivals in the U.S. (dare I say the world?), and I hope this year is the first of many that I’ll get to style stalk at it.
If you haven’t checked out my FFF Fest style photos on Refinery29, head on over there, and then check out my outtakes after the jump!
