Austin Fashion Week 2013: Megan Summerville Woos the Crowd with her Sultry Spring Collection

Let me be honest with you - the only show I came and stayed for on the second night of Austin Fashion Week runway shows was Megan Summerville’s. As soon as the last of her last hunky heartthrobs and vintage vixens strutted off the runway, I was out the door too.

Austin Fashion Week 2013: Wednesday Night Runway Shows

Last Wednesday’s Austin Fashion Week runway shows started off strong with a second look at 12 year old designer Isabella Rose Taylor’s designs. The “blood, sweat, and glitter” put into Isabella’s collection set the bar for the night high, and the collections that came after her’s did not live up to the standard set by this young designer.

Noir and Encore: The Austin Fashion Week 2013 Kick-Off

I know what you’re thinking - it’s already Austin Fashion Week again? In search of more temperate weather, Austin Fashion Week has abandoned it’s usual August dates and moved to May. I am all for a cooler and more pleasant fashion week, but I can’t believe how quickly it creeped up on my calendar!

This past Saturday, AFW 2013 kicked off with it’s opening reception, “Noir,” in which guests were asked to dress in all black and enjoy a conversely all-white runway show. It was interesting to see what both guests and designers/retailers presenting looks in the show would come up with given the palette they had to work with.
